This is an artist on Deviant art, his goal is to do all the Van Gogh paintings as mini tattoos... He's not said anything to my question of the details and every thing mushing together in a few years.. but here's some of his images..
How long do you guys think these will last?? ![]() ![]()

I know nothing of their longevity, but I was going to say, "who would want a coin-sized tattoo". Then I scrolled down and saw the "Starry Night". If that stays put, it actually looks really cool.

IMO that one is crap and overworks the skin.
There´s one who´s been doing that type of work for ages with much more detail in it, can´t remember his name. As for longivity, just look how long a small detailed butterfly lasts and you know the answer. |

That's cool you brought this up man... Been dabbling into this a littlebit on fruits etc... Namely w/green bananas, no ink and a single on the bar. I wouldn't do it on skin at this point but it's been fun. ..no pics....all I have is my phone and it's a basket case...even normal photos are too fuzzy.
I'm sure most of us(me included) believe that busy detail in any piece is gonna spread like a new family of fleas but... it IS some really cool shit. I'm trying to bring up my "Traditional" knowledge and skills and apply it accordingly(minis). Thanks for that link Bent.... that gives me focus. Wow ... that Anil dude is phenominal.

When asked of the artist about how long it would last: He said he wasnt worried because both of these are on his friends so if they ever needed a touch up they were close. And that he would only be doing the van gogh mini tattoos on friends.

Took another look: too bad the darkest, heaviest line on that skull's the suture line on top.

I bumped this thread back because I wanted to ask a question?
I know that small tattoos with detail can over time turn to blobs! I want some bee's, one of which has to have a crown (Tigers request, queen bee's have crowns??). Other than the wings most of a bees design is quite bold. So what do you guy's think about its chances of it still looking like a bee in 10 years time? Ta guys xx |
